The Hitchcock-Butterfield Company began in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1996. J. Frederic & Vera Cohen, owners of Lamp & Lantern Store (now Lamps & More), saw a void in the retail home market and decided to expand their product line to meet this need.
Fred began his career as a territorial sales rep, and later expanded into retail with The Lamp & Lantern store. With the birth of The Hitchcock-Butterfield Company, he has further expanded his expertise into manufacturing. Other accomplishments include serving a term on the Board of Directors for the National Home Lighting Institute, and the development of Sparkle Plenty, the first spray-on, no-wipe chandelier cleaner.
With over 38 years of sales experience, Fred & Vera offer a wide selection of American made mirrors. Hubby and I love this mirror, but I was shocked that it wasn't real wood! For the money, I was expecting real wood. It is gorgeous, though, just a bit too much money for what you get.

I got this mirror for my kids bath.The bathroom is small so to enlarge I need it a large size mirror that has a simple design( I got the largest they have) . Looks alright but in my opinion is overpriced since the frame is NOT a real wood !!! and I almost send it back.

This mirror was the perfect size for our bathroom remodel. Luckily the color was dark just like the sample swatch and not light like the the picture so it matched our expresso vanity. Only minor things are the frame is slightly deeper than expected and the "walnut finish" is a smooth veneer which looks good from a distance but not like real wood grain up close.

This is a beautiful mirror that I have hung in my bathroom. My bathroom is Asian style and this mirror goes beautifully but if you had a space that was old world inspired, this mirror would go wonderfully with it as well.

Looked at Pottery Barn and Crate and Barrel and couldn't find the size I needed. This was less expensive and is the perfect size. It's the same quality as the Crate and Barrel mirror that I have. [...] Quite happy all around with the purchase.
