The Hitchcock-Butterfield Company began in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1996. J. Frederic & Vera Cohen, owners of Lamp & Lantern Store (now Lamps & More), saw a void in the retail home market and decided to expand their product line to meet this need.
Fred began his career as a territorial sales rep, and later expanded into retail with The Lamp & Lantern store. With the birth of The Hitchcock-Butterfield Company, he has further expanded his expertise into manufacturing. Other accomplishments include serving a term on the Board of Directors for the National Home Lighting Institute, and the development of Sparkle Plenty, the first spray-on, no-wipe chandelier cleaner.
With over 38 years of sales experience, Fred & Vera offer a wide selection of American made mirrors. I needed a large mirror with odd dimensions - ~5' wide and around 3' tall. Using as the main mirror in the bathroom, above the vanity. I SCOURED the internet looking at auction sites, retail sites, craigslist.... I couldn't find anything that was the look and size I needed, at a reasonable price. This mirror ended up costing more than I had planned, but the limited selection everywhere else gave me little choice!
