The Hitchcock-Butterfield Company began in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1996. J. Frederic & Vera Cohen, owners of Lamp & Lantern Store (now Lamps & More), saw a void in the retail home market and decided to expand their product line to meet this need.
Fred began his career as a territorial sales rep, and later expanded into retail with The Lamp & Lantern store. With the birth of The Hitchcock-Butterfield Company, he has further expanded his expertise into manufacturing. Other accomplishments include serving a term on the Board of Directors for the National Home Lighting Institute, and the development of Sparkle Plenty, the first spray-on, no-wipe chandelier cleaner.

Comments about Hitchcock Butterfield Company Jupiter Mirror in Antique Copper:
The mirror was as pictured without much variation in color. The frame is sturdy and the overall look is classic without being pretentious. The only slight complaint is that on the top and sides of the mirror had connection markings where the wood pieces were joined. I have the same style mirror in silver and that frame had no flaws with the frame joints. But fortunately the seams are in places people would not see easily. So I am very happy with the mirror overall.
